General Admissions
First Baptist School is a co-educational private Christian school dedicated to scholastic excellence and spiritual growth. It serves qualified students in young three-year-old preschool through the 8th grade. Our policy on admissions attempts to reflect the philosophy of our school. Each applicant is asked to visit and observe our school. We endeavor to enroll students who will exhibit the biblical values of showing care and concern for others in our school community as well as a demonstration of enthusiasm for the learning process.
Students seeking admission are evaluated age-appropriately to determine their potential to perform satisfactorily at First Baptist School. In preschool, the evaluation process is a 15-20 minute screening with a preschool teacher to assess developmental progress in many areas. In elementary and middle school, the evaluation includes a combination of on-site testing, the student’s report cards and standardized test scores for the last one-to-two years from the student’s previous school.
Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten Admissions
Children entering the young-three class must turn three by January 31 of the school year for which they are applying. (They must be toilet trained when school starts.)
